Every Two Horizon Flute is designed to speak effortlessly and clearly, and made and tuned to exacting standards. However, selecting a flute that is just right for you depends on a couple of things. First, you should consider the musical repertoire you intend to play. If you play Celtic music, you'll probably want to start with a high D flute, and may be interested in G, C and low D as well. If you're interested in playing in the meditative Native North American minor pentatonic style, a flute in the key of A, G, or F may be your best starting place. The species of wood from which a flute is crafted has little influence on its tone. What matters more are issues of smoothness inside the bore, shape and execution of the tone generating system, and specific flute dimensions. So, you may simply choose a flute's wood on the basis of which appeals to you most, or, if you are able to visit us in person or encounter us at a show, try a number until you find one whose voice simply speaks to you.
To order a flute, please write us at harper@timothyharps.ca telephone us at (519) 243-3443. We request a non-refundable 25% deposit to confirm an order, with the balance payable upon completion. Pricing for the flutes is as follows:
